january2002: hmmmm, well, the tundra survey has officially broken-up..... some of us spent the autumn trying to sew it back together, but, uh, no dice.... keep an eye on the Transaction Ensemble, which features Mary Claire (cello) and Josh (guitar).... watch out for Emily's (viola) new projects.... and Andy's (flute) new band coming out of Louisville..... thank you all for you support along the way.....
august2001: well, we're safely home from tour, our new record is availible from the tense forms store and we are resting... thanks to all who came out to see us on the road, thanks to all who fed and sheltered us, thanks to all the bands we played with.... we will be re-grouping over the next few weeks and hopefully you will see a sleek new tundra survey by october or early november.... cool? bye...
july2001: our debut full-length, entitled-- cracked radiator, bum transmission, will be availible in about three weeks... we'll keep you posted...
june2001: well, we're done... we did our final tracking this past week-end... friday was reasonable, set-up and recording only taking seven hours or so... had more trouble with the reel-to-reel though... then saturday took us to school.... 9am-4am... monday and tuesday were spent mixing on new monitors, checking the old mixes, cleaning stuff up.... tonight i will give it a final grooming before i send it off to be mastered.... our friend TW Walsh is mastering it for us... if you have not heard his music, i would most highly recommend Blue Laws, his new record on Truckstop.... so, we're pretty much on track-- expect the 8 song debut, currently untitled, to appear in mid-august... we'll keep you posted.... okay?... bye....
may2001: okay, so i totally lied... there will be no play-by-play recording info here... here's a recap: got four songs done, need two/three more to finish the full length... spent the first night snaking headphones and getting levels and calling friends to track down quarter inch adapters... the reel-to-reel flaked out the second night and we lost five hours of work... saturday was a relatively productive nine/ten hours... sunday ran twelve hours but we finished everything and google-eye mummbled our way through a bbq and going-away party for a dear friend... tell your recording geek chums that earthworks omni-directional microphones are a must buy... this week is mixdown... that's all for now... see you soon.
may2001: hey, i'm gonna try to be better about updating this page... lets see... um, we start recording our full-length today... we are using fancy microphones this time-- you will hear our sweat mingle with our tears... that should be out in august... it is currently untitled, suggestions?... we're playing at Schubas next week, hope to see you... bye.
apr2001: the polaroid 7" and the day release four seasons singles compilation are now available at the tense forms online store.
jan2001: we finally got the site up and running.... we just finished our new recording, 3 songs 22mins 18secs.... this is coming out on a Day Release records singles comp..... it is in the compact disk format..... check out dayrelease.com for more info..... i'm thinking maybe we might try to sell our poloroid seven inch via the net, if you want one email us and we'll figure out how to get one to ya.... also, please jump over to our mailing list and sign-up, in the next month or so we're gonna send out little postcards or something hansome.... alrighty, take care, love you all, the tundra survey.....
